Who Am I?
I’m a 24 year old individual with strong interests in research & development and food photography. Growing up, I always had a strong connection towards food- I was always in the kitchen watching the women of my family cook for weekly family gatherings with my cousins and grandparents. It wasn’t until I was around 8 when I made my first bowl of spaghetti with a jar of Preggo’s tomato sauce and ground beef. It might’ve not been gourmet, but it was the start to a culinary journey that eventually shaped me into who I am today. I went to culinary school and graduated with a bachelors in culinary arts and food service management with a sommelier minor in 2017, and went straight to work in management after graduation. Within a short period of 2 years, I’ve been lucky enough to rise up in the management ladder and even be a part of a huge opening project with a corporate group through hard work and many restless nights. Despite loving the rush and excitement of running a restaurant and working with employees that I called family, it took me away from my true desire which was being my own boss and focusing on R&D for dishes/beverages that I hope to see on a menu of my own. After leaving the opening project, I figured there’s no better time than now to kick start my vision; so here we are!
What’s the point of your blog?
If there’s one thing I wish from my friends+family and followers, it’s to understand that good food and drinks doesn’t have to be complicated all the time. Don’t let the food industry make you fearful of experimenting and broadening your creativity, as well as taking short cuts. I too take short cuts at times and that’s fine! This blog is meant to connect everyone by sharing my ideas and creations in hopes that it inspires others to be their own foodie.
